On 24 February 2015, ECB President Mario Draghi presented the new €20 note. On 25 November 2015, the new €20 banknote of the Europa series will be launched, a good year after the introduction of the €10 banknote.

The new €20 note is equipped with new and improved security features, which provide an even higher degree of anti-counterfeit protection, e.g. an additional innovative security feature that is a true breakthrough in banknote technology: the portrait window in the hologram. If you hold the note against the light, the window becomes transparent. The window contains a portrait of Europa, which can be seen from both sides of the note.

CI Tech now delivers banknote sensors with the upgrade for the new €20 note. And of course, the currency data set is also available for all existing banknote sensors.

With this step, CI Tech ensures that all banknote detection systems on the market have access to updated sensor detection software before the new banknotes are even issued, so that they are able to detect them from the very beginning.
